Red Rock, NV: The Rainbow Wall, Original Route 5.12 / by Drew Smith

I met up with a friend Felipe Guarderas who lives in Joshua Tree, California. He lives there part time guiding for his company and during the off season he climbs around the world. He's one of the most impressive climbers I've been lucky enough to climb with. I've seen him put short work into 5.13 and he makes 5.12 look easy. Knowing he was a solid climber I wanted to do some more challenging climbs with him so we decided to go to Red Rocks in Nevada. The first route we got on was The Original Route on Rainbow Wall, 14 pitches of mostly 5.11/5.12 climbing. Everything went smooth and we even managed to start and finish in the light.
